      The Poverty Point State Historic Site, located in northeastern Louisiana, was recently named by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to its World Heritage List. This is a list of the world’s cultural and natural treasures, properties which are of outstanding value to humanity.
